SUNTEC CONCRETE SPONSORS FREE DAY AT CASTLES N' COASTERS FOR THE ARIZONA NATIONAL GUARDPosted: 03/23/07 Suntec Concrete is sponsoring a day at Castles N' Coasters for members of the Arizona National Guard this Saturday, March 24, 2007. 3,000 soldiers, airmen and their families are expected to attend.
"The Arizona National Guard has had support from throughout the community supporting our organization, but this event has been something else altogether; the response from our members has been overwhelming." said Major Paul Aguirre, Public Affairs Officer for the Arizona National Guard. "What a wonderful and patriotic gesture from an employer in our community." Though Suntec Concrete does not have any employees currently in the National Guard, the company provides that type of support to the community. "We wanted to do something to help people in the community and these are people who sacrifice a lot for us every day. I personally just cannot imagine my husband being gone that long and not know what will happen. It hits home," said Sally George, construction manager at Suntec Concrete, a 21-year employee. The Arizona National Guard currently has 1,500 members activated in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom with over 4,500 members activated since 9/11. Additionally, there are over 2,400 guard members from throughout the country supporting Operation Jump Start on the Arizona-Mexico border with over 500 from the Arizona National Guard. Established in Phoenix since 1984, Suntec Concrete Inc. is a commercial concrete construction company based in Phoenix, AZ. Suntec employs 583 people and performs all aspects of commercial concrete construction, specializing in structural, tilt panel, flatwork and foundation construction. Suntec also self performs all concrete placement and finishing. |
